Originating from humble beginnings in a small town in Utah, Spencer Day began his career singing and playing jazz standards in piano bars and retirement homes. He has since released a total of six albums to date, including the recently released Daybreak in 2014. Spencer is returning this season by popular demand. He performs at The Palm November 17 – December 4.

The Palm Cabaret and Bar also presents a local production of ‘Greater Tuna’ opening on Wednesday, November 19th at 7 pm. The comedic play stars Tracy Parks and Chaz Weathers, who will have you laughing all the way to the ‘Greater Tuna’ area as they portray 20 men, women, children and animals from the third-smallest town in Texas, where the Lions Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. ‘Greater Tuna’ is a big comedy about a small town, small minds and big hearts. Written by Joe Sears, Jaston Williams and Ed Howard, the original production ran for more than 30 years all over the world, with two command performances for US Presidents in Washington, D.C. ‘Greater Tuna’ makes its Mexico debut at The Palm this season, playing November 19 – December 12.

The Palm is well-known for bringing top notch, cutting-edge entertainment to Vallarta. Inside you’ll find an intimate, completely refurbished 90-seat cabaret club with outstanding sound and lighting, creating the ambience of cabarets from days gone by. Shows are scheduled seven nights per week with two different shows nightly through April 2014.

Spencer Day is a very talented singer from the west coast area near Los Angeles. Though he came from humble beginnings, Spencer has worked his way up to a world class singer and has played exotic  places such as the Philippines, Mallorca Spain, Australia, Japan and others. Spencer was singing and working his way through dive bars when he was asked to appear on the television show “Star Search”. Much to his surprise, he made it to the finals. He found his niche with a light jazz style of singing and has performed in prestigious venues like The Hollywood Bowl and Tanglewood in Massachusetts. He regularly headlines major club venues such as: Yoshi’s and The Plush Room on the west coast to The Canal Room, Town Hall and Joe’s pub on the east coast. His latest album “Daybreak” has just been released and contains numerous gems on it. It also showcases Spencer’s take on classic songs from the 60’s. I recently caught up with Spencer.
